Kristi Mansfield established Greenstone Group in 2005 with a vision to affect social change by growing giving in Australia. Since then, Greenstone Group has developed, funded and led a number of progressive philanthropic and social change initiatives. Kristi is the Fund Director for the Sydney Community Foundation’s Sydney Women’s Fund whose mission is to foster a powerful wave of philanthropy that improves the lives of women and girls in Sydney. Kristi is responsible for developing the Footprints Network, founded by Simon Monk the CEO of World Nomads, an online travel insurance company. Footprints is a non profit organisation that has raised more than $1.2 million in ‘micro’ donations’ for projects around the world to alleviate poverty. Charity partners include the Australian Himalayan Foundation, Care Australia, Fred Hollows Foundation, Oxfam, Plan International Australia, Save the Children and WaterAid. Donations are raised online through an alliance of e-commerce businesses and their customers to fund projects in Australia and around the world. The e-commerce businesses in the network include Travel Insurance Direct, World Nomads, SurfStitch, Remo General Store and Temando. Kristi is a director of SharingStories, a digital storytelling program for Indigenous youth from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. It encourages self-expression, develops digital and literacy skills and builds connections between young people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Participants receive the training and digital media tools required to tell their stories in their way, as well as the platform for sharing their creative work with the world. www.sharingstories.org. Kristi is a director of the Australian Women Donors Network, a not for profit organisation advocating for greater investment in women and girls, and promotes the use of gender sensitive principles in grantmaking. Kristi also works with a number of individuals and family foundations assisting them achieve their vision for strategic philanthropy. Greenstone Group InitiativesIn February 2010, Greenstone Group initiated, developed and funded the Women Mobilising Millions campaign designed to drive new investment from high net worth women to women and girls in Australia. This was a major marketing campaign in the philanthropic sector. The campaign engaged more than 500 women of wealth and will connect them with projects to benefit women and girls through the Australian Women Donors Network chaired by Eve Mahlab. Also in 2010, Greenstone Group conducted research with grantmakers and produced “A Worthwhile Exchange: A Guide to Indigenous Philanthropy”. The development and production of the Guide was an initiative of the Rio Tinto Aboriginal Fund and was co-funded by The Christensen Fund. In 2009, Kristi directed the Asia Pacific Breakthrough Summit, an initiative designed to generate new investment behind Millennium Development Goals 3 & 5 from non government organisations, faith communities, women's agencies, philanthropy, business and government. The original target for investment was $20million. The final result was $1.2 billion of commitments to programs and initiatives for women and girls in Australia and Asia Pacific. Since inception, Greenstone Group through Kristi has connected private philanthropists and foundations with non profit organisations resulting in more than $5 million across a number of issue areas including women and girls, aged care, health and Indigenous affairs. She works with private philanthropists and progressive foundations in Sydney, Melbourne and the US. Past clients include the Rio Tinto Aboriginal Fund, the Australian Women Donors Network, The Christensen Fund, Wangal Environment Fund, Queen Victoria Women's Trust, International Women's Development Agency, Philanthropy Australia, Foundation for Young Australians, HOME Hospice, McGrath Foundation and Arthritis Australia. Prior to founding Greenstone Group, Kristi worked as international marketing director for software companies. She was recognized as NSW Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year finalist for her work in 2003.
